The TW King

Hello,

My name is Don Halley and I am the King of the Teenie Weenies.

As a very young child in Chicago, I remember walking down to the corner with my father to buy the 3 Sunday newspapers and upon our return, diving for the Tribune's comic section so I could read the TWs.

Growing up, my father's work caused us to move around quite a bit, and it wasn't always possible to find a local paper that featured the little folks. After a few years, we wound up back in Chicago, but by that time, I was working too hard to get through school and making a living to have much time for the funny papers.

After I finished high school, I entered the Army.

Upon my discharge, I moved to southern California. I ran across a TW greeting card in a gift shop, and that rekindled my interest. But no matter how many antique malls I prowled, or how many ephemera or antiquarian book shows I attended, I never found any related material.

Then eBay happened. Through their auctions, I managed to acquire all of the TW books and most of the comic strips. On July 27th, 2003, I started this newsletter with fellow eBay TW bidders as my first subscribers.

I love to hear from fellow TW fans. You can leave a comment directly under any and all issues, you can leave a message by taking the Guest Book link in the right margin, or you can send me an email by choosing Contact at the top of the page.

Take Care,
Don

P.S. Here I am a short while ago trying on a folk art hat in Hungary:
